Written by Gareth Pitchford "In the depths of the night the Dream Walker roams the world, fixing dreams so children can sleep peacefully..." Dream Walker is a three-part PAWed text adventure for the ZX Spectrum 48K and other 8-bit microcomputers. The first part of the game is a shorter, tutorial section that serves as an introduction to the game world. Parts two and three are longer. None of the parts are password protected but it is recommended that they be played (and completed) in order. The game was written with the PAW by Gilsoft, using inPAWs by Francisco Javier Lopez and Chris Ainsley's VSC syntax highlighter. Thanks to Denk and André Luna Leão for playtesting feedback. The font in the Spectrum 48K version is Koncrete by Damien Guard. The game has been converted to run on Infinite Imaginations' DAAD engine, for those who wish to play the game on other 8-bit and 16-bit platforms. Please note that these versions haven't been tested as thoroughly as the PAW release.. Please let me know if there are any issues. The DAAD version of the game is now playable online through jDAAD. Many thanks to Uto; for his invaluable suite of development tools, including DAADready!, PAWS2DAAD, Maluva, and DRC; and also to Andres Samudio of Aventuras AD for making DAAD available to the general public. |
